1. Play tourist for the day
January is a hard month for everyone. They call it the ‘January Blues’. We are all a little bored after having a jam packed December full of festive plans and we are all a little poor after having a jam packed December full of festive plans… you get the pattern.
There is nothing more perfect than grabbing two return tickets for a daytime date in the closest city to you. Grab a coffee and cake to go and spend the day walking around aimlessly.
Start the year off by making memories, taking pictures and playing tourists with Bae.
2. Games Night
Nothing but rubbish on the TV? Dying for a Saturday night glass of wine? Bored of being bored?! GET THE GAMES OUT! Break out the board games, open a pack of cards, “ALEXA, lets play a game!” It’s time to disconnect from your phone, switch the TV off and spend some quality time together whilst having a giggle or two over something new.
3. Coffee date
Most dates these days are centered around drinking and eating, the two things that make you feel yuk straight after. Most dates are also centered around the evening time when it seems most appropriate to pop open a bottle of wine whilst devouring your 3 course meal.
Mix it up a little.. let’s meet for a day time date and let’s meet for a coffee, or a tea if you prefer.
The perfect date for two to spend less, have a chat, show off your daytime glam and leave without entering a food coma or regretting saying something inappropriate after a drink or 8…
4. Spa Break
Whether you both book in for a luxury spa retreat or you grab the face masks from the drawer and take it in turns to massage each others feet… enjoy spending quality, relaxed time with one another whilst beating off the January blues.
There’s no better way to start the New Year off than with relaxing, cleansing and taking some time out to reflect.
5. Double Date with fellow 'dry January'ers'
There’s nothing worse than sitting in avoiding alcohol at all costs on a Saturday night, is there? YES, there is! Sitting in avoiding alcohol at all cost on a Saturday night whilst EVERYONE else is out sipping cocktails is A WHOLE LOT WORSE!
There has got to be another couple out there that you know doing dry January too! Get your phone out, invite them round and be in this together!
Eat the calories you would usually be drinking and order something that will make you all smile! Bring the alcohol-free fun to you!
6. The great outdoors
Whilst setting your ridiculous ‘New Years Resolutions’ including this stupid dry January one.. Did you happen to throw in the ‘return back to the gym’ one too? Yes, thought so!
Kill two birds with one stone when getting out in the fresh air and trying something different, whilst cramming in your daily exercise as well.
I mean.. this one isn’t for all of us, but try something new!
