So… the thought of staying in doors!? OMG no way, we can’t cope! We are going to go C R A Z Y! We are getting cabin fever even thinking about it!
Ok calm, things are a little strange around here RN but we are all in this together! We’ve put together a list of 15 things you can do to keep your spirits high and your mind sane during this time stuck indoors!
1. Begin a major health kick.
Cook new recipes, create a food diary, run around the block, carry out home work outs! This could be the kick start you needed for you to get that body you’ve been dreaming about!
2. Contact and check up on those you have been out of contact with for a while.
What a perfect excuse to check up on your besties and re-kindle friendships from the past! You’ve finally got the time to sit down, reply to all those messages and reach out to the most important people in your life. Get a few dates in the diary for later on in the year, create plans to look forward to!
3. Watch the list of EXTRA LONG films you've been avoiding.
1917, Once Upon a Time in America, Black Mirror : Bandersnatch, here’s just a few of the films we know are springing straight to mind. That’s without touching on the golden oldies like King Kong! You’ve got plenty of time on your hands, make your way through them all for a little escapism.
4. Wardrobe clear out!!! Sex and the City style...
A tidy house is a clear mind. We will be spending a lot of time in our homes, and we also have a lot going on in our heads. Don’t make this worse by surrounding your self with mess. Start with your wardrobe and make your way through the rooms in the house. A good clear out always makes you feel better.
5. Start a diary/blog about this surreal experience
A lot of us have never experienced a pandemic like this before, and may never experience it again. The shops are empty, the roads are clear and we are all being sent home from our jobs. Write a diary to remember the whole experience. Although it may feel like we are never going to get back to normal, we will! It will soon be over and we will be looking back at this complete madness! It’s something to learn from, and teach children about in the future. This will one day be a period marked in history!
6. Learn a new language
We are 100% sure most of you have always wanted to learn a language but never had the time or patience? What a perfect time to extend your skills. French, Spanish, Arabic? What will you choose to learn?
7. Pamper yourself... Create your own spa day!
Youtube search ‘Spa music‘, dim the lights and get your face pack on! Paint your nails, run a hot bath and relax in a fresh pair of pj’s. Ahhh… we feel better already just at the thought!
8. Continue to engage and inspire via social media platforms. We need as much normality as possible.
You don’t have to go outside to post a pic, and if you do, try your street or your garden! We are fully aware that all of you girls have a camera roll full of unused pictures ready to post. Continue to share your outfit inspo on your Insta and continue to share the funny videos to Facebook. We want to make people smile. Online shopping NEVER stops! Inspire each other daily and purchase new things to make you feel good. We won’t be kept inside forever, you’re going to need a new pair of shoes for date night when this is all over.
9. Catch up on your sleep
Who’s had a holiday cancelled? Yep, us too. Who was looking forward to a week of catching up on sleep? Yep, us too. Who snoozes their alarm every morning? YEP, US TOO!
If you’re working from home, think about that commute and getting ready time your are gaining. By the time the corona virus has made it’s exit we may not have bags under our eyes and we’ll be feeling fresh AF. There’s always a positive.
10. Try something new with your look.. If you hate it? No one can see it!
Whether it’s a new cut (completed by yourself, your mum or your house mate), a new colour or a completely new style.. give it a go! There’s no one around to see you and you’re not able to go anywhere anyway. Take the risk girls.
11. Tell lots of jokes and make sure you laugh a lot. Keep everyone's spirits alive in the house.
We are all feeling really strange.. right? The idea of ‘not knowing’ is driving us crazy, and the mind is such a powerful thing! We need to all stay positive and lift each others moods, we are all in need of a little bit of laughter!
12. Make sure your Grandparents are ok and that they have plenty in the house.
Both Grandparents and elderly members of the family are currently being advised to self isolate and remain in their homes. They will be getting considerably bored too. Check up on them daily, make sure they are ok and if they are in need of anything, add it to your shopping list. You may just make their day, and that’s always a nice feeling!
13. It may be a time of uncertainty for us, but your pets are LOVING having their human at home. Make their life bliss
We are all guilty for leaving our pets for a couple of hours during the day, or leaving them to roam free around the house while we go to work. They now have us ALL DAY, EVERYDAY!
We may all be going stir crazy, bur our fur babies are LOVING life. Enjoy every second of their time.
14. If you're still getting a payslip, just rearrange all your appointments, don't cancel them!
If you are able to work from home, and you are still receiving a payslip, think about the small businesses that rely on their customers. If you have a beauty appointments, personal trainers etc. Maybe think about just re scheduling the appointments instead of cancelling them. They still need a little light at the end of the tunnel!
15. Make your own series of Gogglebox
Do you have friends that are stuck in doors too? FAB!
1. Mutually agree on a television program to watch
2. Set your phone up to video you on your sofa
3. Watch the program and capture your reactions
4. Send each other your videos.
Little lighthearted fun and oh, we’ve got through another hour!
Raid want to send their love to you, your friends and your family.
Stay healthy, stay happy and keep positive.
